DEMOCRACY'S NORRIS: The Biography of a Lonely Crusade

Norris' career parallels the progressive struggle in America from the time of President Garfield to the adjournment of Congress' last session, and the personality and character of Norris are skilfully and sympathetically developed but the chief emphasis is on his traits as a politician, with outstanding characteristics of independence, aggressiveness, idealism and deep human sympathy. Governmental re-organization, Civil Service reform, the T V A and opposition to war have felt the importance of his victories in the battle against corruption and economic reaction. Here to the progressives, friend, of the little man, Norris has a definite following. This is on the laudatory side and journalistic, but it is well done and readable.
