KIRKUS REVIEW

Reported originally 11/15/40 for December publication, as follows:- ""It is incredible that so dull a tale could be made of this fabulous success story of an individual and an industry, Sloan's credo that 'merit and initiative will find a way' (provided the government will lay off), is substantiated by the book which is an endless panegyric to mass production, to acquisition, to money monopoly, to 'bigger and better elephants'. The book opens with his early industrial experience in the Hyatt Roller Bearing Co. which his father bought for a bargain, and which the son built up into big business. Then the birth of General Motors, stocks and statistics, mergers, improvements, new sidelines, and plenty of figures to show how it has worked. Ran in Satevepost.
