This book of tales of the Channel Islands will be welcome to the child who loves stories of make-believe. It has real atmosphere and folk flavor and is solid in spite of the whimsy. The people are lively and real. There is just enough magic to appeal to children from seven and up. The stories are varied in background and appeal which makes it a good read aloud book for a family group, as well as good story hour material.
