KIRKUS REVIEW

The experience of a deep sea fisherman, from 1911 to the end of that decade, not from the angle of the sportsman but relayed in the rough to give a true picture of that mode of earning a living. Habut schooners; baiting; dressing the catch; financial returns; distribution; dangers from sharks, from ice, from storm, from shipwreck. Hard to see a very wide general market for this, though some of your sincere sportsmen may be interested in the business side of the picture -- and those in the business will welcome a human story of their own, though these are insubstantial random reminiscences.
