This is delightful book. First, the story itself is worth reading, though not a wholly convincing picture of Tibet. And second, Kurt Wiese has done one of the best jobs he has ever done in the illustrations which are generously sprawled over the pages, giving one the impression, at a glance, of this being a younger book than the text indicates. An adventure story of a Tibetan boy and the white yak, and of the errand on which he went to carry the message to the sacred city.
