CHILDREN OF THE PRAIRIE

One of the best she has done. A story of an Iowa farm, and of a pioneer school, of the County Fair, and of the share the children had in the activities of the farm and the household. Gives a very real sense of the life fifty years ago, with the coming in of people of different nationalities, and with the growing feeling of the consolidation that followed the homesteading period. Adventures with a Cornish pony give the pace of the story.
