THE FIRST BOOK OF PLANTS

Report repeated from p.185 of the March 15th bulletin... ""With well synchronized references to different plant families along the way and an expression that creates a sense of nature's never ending cycles, this is a good first round up of earth's vegetable life. An introduction stressing the importance of plants lays ground for a well organized array of information. It includes in order, sections on the photosynthetic process, the use of plants as food, growth from seeds, the bacteria, fungi, simple greens (algae as the main example), annuals, better soil and future conservation projects. Throughout there are good suggestions for experiments.
