The subject of drought, usually entirely an adult problem, has entered the juvenile domain in the last few years, and this attractive book tells the story of the coming of rain and what it means to the city and the country. The farmer's boy finds he cannot wiggle his toes in cool, green grass, the animals' pools are dried up, and there are no fresh beans and lettuce. In the city boy discovers his pool is dried, the little tree in the square is losing its leaves, and the store has no fresh vegetables. But then the rain comes and the green things grow, the animals drink, and the city boy and country boy dance in the rain.
