BILL AND THE GOOGLE-EYED GOBLINS

Just right for Halloween--a story about a boy who outwits his goblin captors by using the talent his neighbors found undesirable. Bill dances all the time--dragging his plow into a pond, strewing pie ingredients all over the kitchen, dancing right into a fairy ring on All Hallows Eve--whereupon the earth cracks open, delivering him to the goblin den below. But of course he gets the goblins dancing, blindfolded to make it harder, and escapes with enough gold to reform his neighbors' opinion of his favorite activity. All of this is recorded in soft, cheerful illustrations, with the multitude of lively little goblins just ugly enough to be interesting, their kingdom appropriately decked with jack-o'-lanterns.
