ON HAMPTON STREET

Pleasant, nostalgic and rather irrelevant picture of family life in a Welsh community in a coal town near Scranton, Pa., at the turn of the century. Possibly, in looking backwards, family good times assumed an aura of good fellowship, only slightly ruffled by seasonal unemployment and lack of some of the ordinary luxuries. A bit patronizing at times- from a boy's angle; some girls will like the cookery aspects. A trifle too noble, with plot orientation slow paced- for today's readers.
