LARS AND LISA IN SWEDEN

This pleasant story offers children a fresh and entertaining glimpse of the charming and colorful traditional festivals of Sweden. Lars and Lisa Ekstrom are busy, happy, normal children in present day Sweden. Lars and Lisa go shopping, paint, visit an old castle, and make friends with an American. Also they participate in Swedish holiday celebrations -- a bonfire on St. Whalpungis Eve, a maypole dance on Midsummer Eve, Lisa dresses in a white robe with a crown of candles for St. Lucy's Day, and there are wonderful Christmas doings. The origin of the holidays are explained by the grown ups.
