STORM OVER SKYE

Sheepcrofting on the burns and moorn and heaths of the Scottish Isle of Skye provided only a meager living at best. But suspicion soured the pastoral peace of the village when sheep disappeared from several flocks. Was the thief Padruig MacNeiall or Raonull Sonnach, wondered young Niall. With his hardy elder brother Ruairidh, he finds the answer. A good family story as well as a taut mystery, this projects the hills and heather of Scotland with pleasantly tweedy illustrations in pen and ink by Shirley Hughes.
