KIRKUS REVIEW

The Hungry Goat ate just about anything in his path and when his appetite got him into trouble it was also capable of getting him out. The short and simple words used rhyme well and there is a distinctive, strong rhythm to verses which provides the clue to the final form the book takes -- at the back, it is set to an easy piano/guitar arrangement. The author is the well known Canadian folk singer and the illustrator, who has supplied bold, inventive stylizations of the goat's adventures, is the same one who joined: Mr. Mills to produce their last picture book, I Know an Old Lady (1961).
