The first year"" -- but instead of the small town problem that has been made familiar on stage and screen and in books, this is the first year for a very modern young couple, the man trying to write a first novel, the girl running a smart dress shop, and both convinced that marriage need not entail any sense of mutual possession or any concern with past or present, in so far as outside contacts are concerned. Just how this all works out -- and the rocks and shoals encountered before they realized that human nature is human nature, makes entertaining reading without too much strain on the mentality.
