Jaunty account of a working girl's vacation, as the author and a friend, employees of the Piper Corporation, decide to fly to Alaska in Lil Shrdlu, a fifty horse power Cub Trainer. But floods stop them, and it is in Mister Shrdlu, a Coupe, that they make their flight to Seattle, then take boat to Skagway, and airway to Whiteforse, rwash Qanding, Fairbanks, etc. There is one crackup -- there is trouble with maps, with non existent airports, with regulations, with too much friendly interest. They explore a bit they meet a mountie, see Eskimos, traders, missionaries, tourists, they learn the danger of war in the section. All in all, though they never actually rough it, they find a few danger spots and have a grand time, which makes for good non-stand armchair enjoyment.
