LES PAS ONT CHANTE: The Steps Have Sung by Alphonse de Chateaubriant

LES PAS ONT CHANTE: The Steps Have Sung

By

Publisher: Sequana Selection -- Bernard Grasset

The reminiscences of the well-known author of some years ago, effusive, lyrical, impressionable. His early childhood and schooling at St. Cyr, then a decision to renounce the army in favor of a literary career, his first love affair, a pastoral idyll in Brittany, his first novel, and then the World War. There is great detachment in this record of his sensitive response to the external world, a certain philosophical commentary on mankind, intermingled with his rather tremulous musings on things gone by. Gentle, old-world, and of limited interest.
