RAIDER'S DAWN

First appearance of a young Welsh poet who with other war poets of this generation writes with realistic awareness, of death, of love in the shadow of death. Once again there is none of the pretty idealism of the poets of the first world war. Vitality, simplicity, rich imagery of the Welsh in these lyrics. They are not wholly poems of war years, but some are predated to include his earlier work -- poems from the Chinese, poems of the Welsh country.
