Capucilli works on developing her Katy Duck franchise to Biscuit proportions. Katy loves to dance, so she practices hard for her recital; a momentary attack of stage fright rocks her confidence, but she recovers as the crowd shouts, “BRAVO!” There’s absolutely nothing about this book or the other Katy Duck titles that cries out for the board format; it does a disservice to the board-book audience who will not understand it and to the preschoolers who deserve a fuller tale.
