Field hockey, football, fun and the personality problems of growing up are the readymix for this author's seventh readable if shallow young novel. As usual a school activity is the jumping off point for a series of standard emotional entanglements. Jill, a posed, glamorous new girl at Sharon High, is made assistant hockey coach- an act that antagonizes another player, Chris Robinson- (it would you, too!). Then Jill, who attracts all the boys as well, must fight off football captain Bo while she realizes the good points of scientific Das who tells her that, in spite of her admirable level headedness, she must reckon with the ebullient Chris by giving her some of her own medicine. Jill does, and wins a friend, but it's a small victory for a girl with everything in her favor.
