I loved it, for to me it seemed to be wrought of the very heart of the country, of the seasons, of nature and gardens and people. It is the sort of book in which you find odd bits you want to copy out. There is a folk rhythm, there are ballads, there are trick patterns in free verse, there are verse forms that are new in their very antiquity. I think people will like this better than the vapid maunderings of much of the routine modern verse. Pick your customers -- and give them a chance at it.
