A good yarn for all ages, in the story of a young Frenchman's experiences collecting wild animals on the Ivory Coast of Africa. The stories date back a number of years and have grown tall in the interim, but true or false they make good reading. The hero seldom goes far from his old tub which he has christened ""Noah's Ark"" but he meets odd characters, has near encounters with death, near escape from a water buffalo, a yellow fever epidemic, shipwreck and the loss of his menagerie. There's a lovable pet lion, a chimpanzee that smokes cigarettes and drinks absinthe, two snakes as friendly as a pair of kittens, etc. Plus sale for boys and girls.
