The Canadian North is the haven of Risk Kettering, trying to escape guilty war memories and his gold seeking introduces him to Jules Leroy who saves him from the wolves. Saving Leroy's life in turn Rick becomes his partner in the fight against Larsen's attempt to locate and appropriate Leroy's great gold strike and it takes killings, arrest and a gruelling chase to give the villain his deserts.
