NEVER TAKE A SHORT PRICE

Not as classy as Joe McGinniss' Dream Team earlier this year, but still an entertaining day at the track with Robert Whiteside, a hanger-on working out of a small nut (you'll learn a lot here) ever since his father died having lost a half a million on a horse that suddenly collapsed of a twisted gut -- all due to one Chickie Abbott who's still a big man around the turf. Now, fronting for another man, he's asked to place thirty thousand dollars on a horse with Abbott in Vegas and only is able to pull it off via Abbott's daughter Patsy (a recovery room romance here -- she's just tried to cut her wrists). All of this is of course wired to the big race and even if you've never read a tout sheet, pink or green, you'll find that quick money talks fast.
