BY-LINE FOR MURDER

Again the superior touches shown in Hilda and Fontego's Folly are used to point up a paranolac's drive to destroy. Jessop is bypassed for the post of foreign editor for his Fleet Street newspaper and becomes his own agent of justice by means of a hidden store of cyanide. C.I. Haines, of the Yard, whittles 200 suspects down to 68, then to a handful before he can catch up with insignificant, messianic Jessop. A slow but small grinding expertise.
