This delicious fairy story was first published in England in 1889 in one volume, as reported by the publisher. This addition will surely be attractive as it is to be illustrated by Robert Lawson. It will make a perfect family gift, because older children and adults should all enjoy it. It has some of the same quality as The Sword in the Stone. In the kingdom of Pantouflia reigns a pleasant easy-going King and his brilliant realistic Queen. Finally Prince Prigio is born to them and at his christening the fairies shower him with marvelous gifts which are junked by his mother, except for the present from a mean fairy who has wished to have him ""too clever"". This makes him a poisonous youth, until he finds the discarded gifts in the attic. He falls in love and does away with the Firedrake and the Remora. If you want a pleasant interlude be sure to read this.
