For those who can find their way in the maze of Barsetshire relationships, this new volume chronicles their most recent involvements during the Coronation. All are concerned with the celebrations to come, the programs and entertainments take up their time until the great day itself, permitting only the necessary social groupings of teas, dinners, swimming parties and family encirclements. Lydia Merton's capable handling brings off her assignment which is crowned by the appearance of Julia Dean and Aubrey Clover in their one act play in which the young Lord Mellings also acquits himself with distinction and the Queen's triumphs are suitably reflected. The familiar divagations are wearing the tone is getting waspish, although the people are as pleasant.
