MY FIRST NATURE BOOK

A lush, oversized (10"" x13"") book with photos in vivid color that makes even ordinary objects look dramatically three-dimensional. Each two-page spread provides drawings and photos of equipment, materials, and step-by-step directions for a simple nature project--nature showcase; bird-feeder; terrarium; caterpillar house; pressed flowers; nature diary; worm farm; etc. But while readers and nonreaders alike will delight in the bright photos, some of the projects could have used more readily available materials: the nature museum requires six empty kitchen matchboxes; the caterpillar described eats only passionflower leaves. Still, most projects are feasible, while the photos and layout are outstanding.
