KIRKUS REVIEW

An author who developed a Thorne Smith type of fantasy -- with overtones (The Body's Guest, 1959), here indulges in linking science fiction to religion. On an island off Scotland secret activities are approved by the government but rumors bring about investigation. A world to be subjected to a type of painless prefrontal leucotomy, a madman's persuasive delusions, conflict between the Devil and an Angel affect humans fighting scientific, and evil forces. Almost nothing missing.
