THE LIFE OF ALBERT SCHWEITZER by Anita Daniel

THE LIFE OF ALBERT SCHWEITZER

By

Publisher: Random House

Another timely biography of a life story with which all children should be familiar. Simple language and an evocative mood similar to Schweitzer's own Out of My Life and Thought tell the story of the physician-philosopher, who through his ""reverence for life"" established the now-famous hospital for Africans at Lambarene. His childhood and the influence his early ideals had on his later life are stressed here in a way which should be appealing. This follows him from Gunsbach through student days and his later contributions to humanity and the recognition he received in the Nobel Peace Prize awarded him. Inspirational springboard to Schweitzer's autobiography.
