For young people, this has a somewhat different appeal from that indicated in the full report (P. 190). For here- through the adventures and misadventures, the hopes and disappointments, of a young woman seeking a child for adoption among Europe's needy, there is given a picture of what some of the children of the world are facing. From Washington, where the idea was born, to Holland, to France; the final finding of the baby and bringing him back to America; the getting acquainted with him and with the idea of motherhood- this makes a story that has wide appeal.
