Julia Probyn, as noticing as ever (or as she would say-""nosey parkering"") and M.I. 5's Colonel Jamieson investigate some Russian installations on land- the West Highlands- and sea, cruising around the Erinish Islands. Clambering over cliffs (this is still not a cliffhanger) Julia breaks a leg, elicits more than solicitude from the Colonel, and has her suspicions confirmed as an archaeologist-Professor is murdered and a Russian trawler heads out to sea. A little sailing, cooking, digging, ird watching, and flower identification fill out a very slight adventure; in these ands espionage, once a deadly game, becomes a gentlewomanly diversion.... Not highly classified intelligence.
