FOR ALL THAT LIVES: With the Words of Albert Schweitzer

Ann Atwood's lovely color photos for Haiku and My Own Rhythm were highly praised by juvenile critics who don't often get the full color treatment. But her work is too often banal or just plain fuzzy, and combined here with quotations from the philosophy of Albert Schweitzer and with documentary photos of Schweitzer by Erica Anderson which are altogether different in mood and color tone, they aspire to a grandeur that they simply don't achieve. Of course this is a high-impact audio-visual introduction to Schweitzer -- and despite the heavy vibrations of the selections (""Love is the Eternal Thing. . .""), you don't have to be a closet mystic to respond. Artistically though, it hardly rates above the inspirational poster.
