KIRKUS REVIEW

When Thor's magic hammer is stolen by a giant who then demands Freya as his wife, Thor disguises himself as the goddess and descends to the land of the giants, accompanied by Loki dressed as a bridesmaid. How the two gods retrieve the hammer and defeat the giants is told with unforced exuberance and dramatized in comic-primitive two-dimensional illustrations which are mostly blue and white to suit the icy north, with the ugly giants in contrasting reds. If Loki looks a little too cute the giants are properly ferocious, and the overall design is smartly decorative.
