A light novel in the best sense, headed mostly for rentals, but distinctly not follow-the-leader in story or handling. A humorous, likeable story of an unconventional, irresponsible, slightly amoral young family. The family is headed by David, a little staid but very understanding of the elastic ethics and morals of his brothers and sisters. The romantic peripatetics of the four sisters and brothers, David's near marriage to a spinster-pianist, Letty's disappearance with a tubercular artist, the break-up of his egotist brother's marriage, etc., make for a nice story, done with warmth and a certain intelligence.
