FLORIDA NURSE

This -- as it gets into its swing- promises a new twist to an old tale, as Dee O'Mara confronts the special problems that her first district nursing job presented. This was no luxury job. Innahawsee was a crude inland, vegetable growing community, and her work would be among migrant workers, Puerto Ricans and poor whites. There were three main stations, and she met rebuffs at two- and won her chance at the third and worst. What she ran into- how she coped with not only the immediate issues but the bitter enmity between two of the three growers-how gradually the challenge of both the human problems and the hurdles nature imposed, came to be her own makes an interesting frame for the story. Of course it degenerates into the eternal man meets girl pattern, and all comes out well enough on two levels of romantic interest before the end.
