NOBODY'S FAMILY

Nobody's family is meant to be a terrifically cute and heartwarming assortment; it consists of Maria and Pablo, who set up housekeeping in a packing crate when their Aunt Carmen is arrested for smuggling a wetback; a blond, four-year-old waif they take in; their dog Bandido; and a pet rooster who goes with them everywhere. When their packing crate home is destroyed, the family stows away for a time on a luxury yacht and is joined by Ronnie, the owner's unhappy son. The group tries every trick in the book to win our affection--there's Maria's touching prayers to her madonna; a harum-scarum chase through a Mexican market that includes a covey of nuns among the pursuers; even a courtroom disrupted by a flying rooster. You'd have to have spent your life in a packing crate to find any of this fresh or original.
