Not only is a first rate boy and girl story, horse and dog story, but it is sound informational material on breaking ponies to gymkhanas, on care of dogs and horses, on routine kennel work, and so on. The youngsters are the same ones we learned to know in Five Proud Riders; the setting is the same; but the story shows definite growth in mastery of plot and style.
