The author is a teacher and it shows. She takes the student reader through the steps of building a handleable science project, discusses the phases of research (with a good section on the part libraries and reading can play) and the costs involved, emphasizing how to make do with around-the-house materials. Along the way, there are suggestions for projects and how best to display them. The author sticks to the point all the way through a short book that suggests itself as a very useful book for younger students responding to the do-it-yourself slant of accelerated science programs.
