RURAL PARISH

The pages of this book are culled from the leaves of a journal kept by a young minister's wife. They tell simply but vividly of the problems, struggles and satisfactions of the first year in a three-point rural parish. Those who are tempted to be discouraged over the apparent inability of the church to change the pattern of individual and social life, and those who are apt to measure the church in terms of the large city parish, would be encouraged and enlightened by reading this book. It is in simple and obscure settings such as this that much of the significant work of the church takes place. The book is well written and the author's sense of humor as well as her interests and those of her minister husband make it a very human and very appealing record of a useful life.
