THE SPOOKY HALLOWEEN PARTY

Some frisky Halloween fun, featuring Albert and Nicky from The Surprise Party (1977). This time Nicky is throwing a Halloween party and Albert scorns his bragging prediction that Albert will be scared and fooled by Nicky's costume. But when Albert takes the elevator up to Nicky's new fifth-floor apartment, he finds that he can't recognize Nicky or any of the guests. Trick-or-treating through the building, Andrew and a little girl get separated from the others, and he is a little scared. Then, back at the party at unmasking time, he thinks someone has cast a spell on him, for he still can't recognize the guests! Just then, a trick-or-treat visit from Nicky and his friends makes Albert realize that he's at the wrong party. The story ends with a ""super special"" spooky time when both parties get together. A good joke on Albert, and it roils along at a brisk, easily readable clip.
