THE OLD WOMAN AND HER PIG and Ten Other Stories by Anne--Ed. & Illus. Rockwell

THE OLD WOMAN AND HER PIG and Ten Other Stories

This sequel to The Three Bears and 15 Other Stories (1975) brings together eleven more simple, familiar nursery tales--from ""The Three Sillies"" and ""The Bremen Town Musicians"" of folklore renown to the fables ""The Fox and the Crow"" and ""The Tortoise and the Hare."" The stories of course are sure winners, though as before individual picture books have done more for several of them. Rockwell's flat, naive watercolors are cheery enough to please in passing, with her childlike figures again playing their roles as if in a pantomime or burlesqued melodrama.
