Continuing the 4-H adventures of Jane Ellison whose doctor father had bought a farm in County Fair (1953, P. 587) and of Chuck, the boy she meets in the country, this takes them through more energetic farming projects. There is a love problem when Jane's mother objects to going steady with Chuck but both youngsters prove a forthright capability at home and at school and come to deserve the prizes they win in farming and livestock competitions. Healthy and hearty fare.
