KIRKUS REVIEW

A podge which none the less manages to be amusing, and right down the street for Anne Green fans. This is her first book with a New York setting -- a weird mixture of fantasy, realism, stiltedly absurd conversation, old world New York, a mad group of people getting money for charity through blackmail and through novel forms of entertainment, a Peter Ibbetsonish dream life on the part of a young girl, and an extraordinary mixture of incompatables.
