KIRKUS REVIEW

A wordless book about three alert black and white cats, first seen perched on a branch eying three goldfish in the waves below. One leaps for the fish; the others follow; and, in a surreal conclusion, the fish escape by leaping up to the branch. Slight, but there's humor plus a sort of weird logic to explore in the unexpected reversal, while the Belgian artist's vibrantly handsome illustrations incorporate sly subtleties of character and interpretation that might profitably be discussed. Worth a try where budgets permit.
