And still another someone is starting fires, mutilating animals and killing women, three of them so far. Not enough for you? Well, a couple of wives are keeping mum about spousal beatings. Enter Sally Hopkins, a Houston social worker burned out from too many bad dates, who has come to town to relive the halcyon summer days she spent here with the sheriff, her Uncle Ed. But some secret buried in her own immature psyche is causing blackouts. With the aid of hunky Trooper Rob Farley, our gal Sal eventually bares all, exorcising not only her personal demon but the animal tormentor, the wife beater, the drunk and the baseball-bat murderer, and winding up with true love to boot.
