I don't always agree with Miss Eaton's estimates of books, but I do think, in this volume, she has done what no other book on children's books and reading has succeeded in doing, -- she has supplied the springboard for intelligent planning, from the first books on through to adult books. She has skillfully combined new books with old, she has covered different interests, different types of mind, and given the adult dealing with reluctant readers"" the stimulus and the concrete advice needed. The bibliographies at the end of each chapter make this invaluable as reference.
