COOKING FOR A CROWD

By

Menu and buying, planning aid for those who cook for mobs. Suggested menus are given in twelve, twenty-four and forty-eight serving quantities, and the authors attempt to foresee every difficulty in copious introductory admonitions and advice. There are all sorts of charts and guides--quantity, timing, temperature, etc. The recipes themselves are traditional church supper--hearty, stable, conservative. Occasionally a roast duck or decorated ham will appear, and the vegetables cut loose at times, but this is obviously a friendly guide to ""duty"" cooking. Would have been helpful to include preparation time with each recipe. For the distraught housewife who hates to multiply.
