MYSTERY CLOUDS THE CANYON

An old Inn stop a canyon is the setting for Miss Turngren's new mystery in which Cindy Harrow is the heroine. By chance Cindy and her brother Tim happen upon Spirit Lodge at the height of a storm only to discover a surprising clue to the disappearance of Tim's roommate Peter. The inn continues to be the central focus as Cindy, Tim and a class of art enthusiasts sojourn there and Cindy becomes suspicious of certain goings-on. Before long she comes up with a hidden room housing Peter, a villain who has been forcing him to paint copies of original paintings and the financial fraud motivating the whole shebang. A desperate moment sees Cindy and Peter about to be murdered, but (whew), they are saved in the nick of time. Girls who enjoy involved if unreal spine tinglers will enjoy this.
