THE PAGEANT OF SOUTH AMERICAN HISTORY

Virtually a syllabus of South American history, not a profound, colorful analytical study. Well defined outlines, filled in -- social, historical, economic, with 7/ of it a vast canvas of the past, and only 1/8 given to the present (as was the case with the companion volume, Pageant of Chinese History.) Ancient civilization and culture, the Spanish conquests, the parallel progress of Peru, Brazil and Chile; revolutions and the progress towards independence, as individual nations.
