KIRKUS REVIEW

Extracts from letters smuggled out of occupied France, and published as a unified whole, with chapter headings which stress the phases of life under the German rule, -- propaganda, food, education, etc. Enlightening, intelligent comment, but not as dramatic nor as human as Under the Iron Heel by Lars Moen (Page 91). Interesting to get parallel records, France and Belgium, so soon.
